Biography
Yaw Saarah-Mensah joined the Central Bank of Ghana (BoG) in June 2012 and has worked in the Banking Supervision (BSD), Other Financial Institutions Supervision Department (OFISD) and the Resolution and Restructuring Department (RRD). Prior to joining the Central Bank, Yaw Saarah-Mensah worked at Sprint Wireless, Yellow Book USA and ACT from 2003 to 2012. He has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Management Information Systems (MIS) from Luther College, Iowa in the United States of America, a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Nova Southeastern University, Florida in the United States of America and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Restructuring and Insolvency Practitioners, Ghana. Some of his career highlights include managing the execution of the revocation of the licenses of 420 Banks and Specialised Deposit-Taking Institutions (SDIs) in Ghana, assisting with the drafting of a new Act that regulates Banks in Ghana, assisting with the drafting of a Crisis Management and Resolution Framework for Central Banks in the West-African sub-region and working with a team to develop a Capital Requirements Directive for Basel III for Ghanaian Banks. Yaw Saarah-Mensah enjoys reading and travelling.
