Biography

Mr. Tarwo is a Liberian economist with over 15 years of experience across Liberia's leading economic institutions and the World Bank, with expertise in macroeconomic and fiscal management, monetary policy, and development policy financing. He currently serves as Country Economist at the World Bank Liberia Country Office, where he leads the Bank's economic policy dialogue, advisory work, and analytics; coordinates country policy and institutional assessments; and delivers lending operations. Before joining the World Bank, he held successive leadership roles at Liberia’s Ministry of Finance and Development Planning and the Central Bank of Liberia, contributing to the design and implementation of fiscal and monetary policies that shaped Liberia's economic management. Tarwo holds a Master of Arts in Economic Policy Management from Makerere University and a Bachelor of Science in Economics (Cum Laude) from the University of Liberia. Accredited in Development Policy Financing by the World Bank Group, he has advanced evidence-based reforms across diverse sectors of the Liberian economy, led and contributed to several impactful studies.
