Biography
Mrs. Hanaa Adel Mahmoud Saad, General Department Head - Offsite Supervision Sector, Central Bank of Egypt. Mrs. Hanaa has 27 years of practical experience, of which 22 years are at the Central Bank of Egypt in several positions.
Mrs. Hanaa, in her current position, is responsible for the following:
o Banking Risk Assessment and following up on banks' procedures for Risk Management and Controls.
o Examining and analyzing prudential and financial returns received from banks (including annual reports and the external auditors' reports) to ensure the soundness and stability of the financial position and prepare quarterly and annual risk-based reports.
o Following up on the compliance of banks' activities with both Law 194 for the year 2020 (Law of Central Bank & Banking Sector) and Prudential regulations issued by the Central Bank of Egypt.
o Analysis of ICAAP and recovery plan of banks.
o Taking part in onsite missions.
o Representing banking supervision in several missions.
o Managed a development project of SREP enhancement and developing a risk assessment model from 2019-June 2021.
o Participated in drafting ICAAP regulations issued by CBE in March 2016.
o Participated in the Development project of Banking supervision in CBE in coordination with the European Central Bank for off-site supervision (May 2006 – November 2007).
She is a graduate of the Faculty of Commerce -Cairo University (May 1999). She holds an MBA from the Arab Academy for Banking & Finance in November 2015, a credit course with Citi Group from EBI in April 2006, and a Modern Accounting Certificate (MAC) from American University in Cairo in July 2000. She is a Future Leader (Round 22 – 2016). She is a part-time instructor at Egyptian banking institute to lecture the Risk Management programs.
