Cllr. James Nyepan Verdier

Clr. Verdier, Jr. is a Liberian lawyer and governance expert who currently serves as Senior Legal Consultant and Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, a role he assumed in August 2025. He holds law degrees from the University of Liberia and the University of Notre Dame, and has served as Executive Chairman of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission, Vice President of the Liberian National Bar Association, Assistant Professor at the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law, and Head of the Catholic Justice and Peace Commission. A former student activist, he was Vice President of the University of Liberia Students Union in the late 1980s and later. Known for advocacy in human rights, anti-corruption, and democratic governance, Verdier brings extensive legal and civil society experience to legislative leadership in Liberia.
