CHRISTIAN N. ALLISON, II

Dr. Allison, II is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Liberian Bank for Development & Investment (LBDI), Liberia's oldest financial institution, founded in 1965 and now a full-service commercial bank with fifteen branches in seven counties. He came to the role after twenty-one years at the Central Bank of Liberia, rising from Bank Examiner to Director of Enterprise Risk Management, serving as Chief Risk Officer and Assistant Director for Supervision & Surveillance and Regulation & Policy, where he issued supervisory policy and directed troubled-bank resolution under the Prompt Corrective Action framework. As the Central Bank's Resident Administrator at LBDI, he implemented an IMF-approved resolution strategy, overseeing a US$31.5 million recapitalization and settlement of over US$13 million in obligations. Since July 2023, he has led LBDI's digital transformation and financial-inclusion agenda, extending services to underserved and rural communities and financing agriculture, SMEs, tourism, and manufacturing. He has trained bank supervisors from across West Africa for WAIFEM, delivered governance programs for the boards and senior management of leading Liberian institutions, and taught Credit Administration and Treasury Management at the Banking Institute of Liberia. Dr. Allison holds a Doctor of Business Administration, Summa Cum Laude, from California Southern University; a Master of Business Administration in Corporate Finance from the University of Cape Town; and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting & Economics, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Liberia. He is a graduate of St. Patrick's High School, Monrovia, with the WAEC Certificate in Division I, and a 2008 Archbishop Tutu Leadership Fellow.
