Biography

Mr. Halidu is an accomplished telecommunications and business executive with 28 years of professional experience, including 15 years in senior management roles across leading multinational companies. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Philosophy from the University of Ghana and a Master of Business Administration from the Paris Graduate School of Management, France. Mr. Halidu began his career at Unilever Ghana, where he spent 15 years building strong expertise in commercial strategy, operations, and leadership. He later transitioned to the telecommunications sector, serving with Airtel Ghana for three years and Millicom (Tigo) Ghana for another three. As a member of the senior leadership team, he played a key role in executing Africa’s first major telecommunications merger—uniting Airtel and Tigo to form AirtelTigo. From 2018 to 2022, he served as Chief Sales Officer at AirtelTigo, overseeing nationwide sales performance and driving commercial growth. Mr. Halidu currently serves as the Head of Mobile Money at Lonestar Cell MTN, where he leads the strategic expansion, innovation, and operational excellence of MTN Mobile Money services. He brings to the role a wealth of industry knowledge, a proven ability to drive financial inclusion, and a strong commitment to advancing digital financial services across Liberia.
